Surgical Abortion Process & Procedure
If you are having the surgical abortion procedure be well prepared by doing the following:
Make sure you have read the 24 HR Required Information and have called to set up or finalize your aspiration abortion appointment. It is a Georgia Law requirement that, if you don’t call us to let us know you have read information on the abortion process, we will NOT be able to do the abortion procedure.
Cell phones are not permitted in the clinic. Please leave yours in the car.
Bring a bathrobe (if you have one) as a cover up, an extra pair of socks, sanitary napkin (pad), a bag to carry your things in, and a picture ID (drivers license, ID card).
If you are taking any medications, please bring those in with you.
Minors Under 18-years Old: Due to the State of Georgia Parental Notification law, if you are under 18, at least one of your parents or legal guardian (with proper court documents) must come with you, and they must bring a picture ID to the surgical abortion procedure appointment. You, the patient, must also bring a picture ID and birth certificate.
Make sure you have nothing to eat after midnight the night before the abortion procedure; this also means no candy, gum, breath mints, etc. You can have clear liquids up to two hours before your appointment.
You must arrange to have a driver for your visit if you’d like to receive sedation for the aspiration abortion procedure and they need to check in at the front desk with you, once you arrive. No children are allowed on the premises.
Plan to be at our office for 4 hours minimum. We ask that you and your ride are patient.
As part of the abortion process, you will have some lab work done. If you have a negative blood type there will be an additional charge for the Rhogam injection.
Payment should be made either in cash or credit card, as we do not accept personal checks.
